I began working on computers in the early 1980s, when a screen was monochrome, software arrived on floppy disks and the first generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator was the most impressive thing any of us had seen. The noodling never stopped after that.
I learned HTML in 1998 and hand coded my first website. As an adult I built plenty more of them, and when I was too busy to build one myself I hired somebody else to do it.
Those sites were never right without my personal control. Somebody else’s idea of what my work looks like is always a translation, and the translation is where it goes wrong.
So in 2025 I took control of all my websites, set about rebuilding them, and learned the modern way of doing it: design, code and the current tools, together rather than one at a time. This site is what that turned into.
This is not work I advertise. I enjoy it, and if I can be of service I would rather you asked than assumed.
